I recently purchased this dryer to replace a 15 year old Maytag which was still working but the on/off knob broke off which made it unable to start. I purchased this model since it was suggested to me by the salesperson at Coburn's Supply as it was the highest available model with an agitator and without excessive electronics.

I am a laundry fan! I really like my new Speed Queen washer and dryer. The dryer works as it is should and simple to operate. Enough settings, but not so many to be overwhelming. I love that the washer has a full-sized agitator and that it fills with water. I feel like my clothes are much cleaner and fresher smelling.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the dryer door is very difficult to open. It requires a hard pull and I have to hold onto the dryer with my other hand to keep it from moving.

Takes 1.5-2 hrs to dry laundry. My 28yr old Kenmore will dry the same load in 40 minutes.I am not happy with the dryer. I would recommend buying a diffent brand.

We love it. We have a washer that we love so wanted to purchase the matching dryer. This is the middle level dryer. They work well, not too complicated. We anticipate them lasting a long time. It is easy to use.

my only complaint with the washer is the the Normal/Eco setting. Laundry detergent suds bubble up the drain which makes this setting not useable. Why even have it on the machine? I've had to stand there soaking up the bubbles to keep from running down the wall.

We have owned a Speed Queen washer for several years and have loved having it. Our old dryer finally died so we took the opportunity to upgrade to a new Speed Queen dryer. Our total laundry load time has significantly been reduced. Installation was easy, was able to slide it right into place of the old one. Even my grown kids have said they will be getting Speed Queen appliances when they leave home.

When I first got the dryer it worked great! Have had it barely over a year now and I am having to dry clothes twice to get them dry. The lint has been cleaned out and even blew out the dryer vent and cleaned it out good and still no difference! I have called speed queen and guess what…..no one will even come and look at it. The place I purchased it does not work on them and the "local" companies that sell them either don't work on them if you purchase them from their store or don't want to work on speed queen! I am stuck! I bought it for the purpose of having a longer warranty…..so much for that!

Spent big bucks on the speed queens. Read their web site. Washer was tested at 40 dB of noise. Mines registering over 65, very loud. Don't do laundry if you're watching TV. Dryer seems OK. Had to have timer switch, buzzer and whole electrical harness replaced already. Lint basket started warping, had to have that replaced. I believe they're about a year old. Ho hum. 😔

It was six months old when the igniter broke. I was impressed how quickly speed queen sent a technician to make a warranty repair. The problem was a simple, broken igniter. I haven't heard from the technician in over a month and I'm still drying my clothes outside.

Dryer arrived ok, works as expected, can't say the same for the Washer, it arrived with a dent inside on the tub and one dent on the outside. Concealed Damage, no scratches or marks, just dents. Packaging did not have any marks on it, which suggest it came from the manufacture this way.
Not sure why manufactures expect you to comment on longevity when we have only had the Dryer for a month. It appears I can recommend the dryer, but at this point I hesitate to.

I have enjoyed my dryer and how simple and fast it works to dry my clothes. If I could make one single suggestion it would be to change the handle to open the door and move it to the top of the door for ease of use and comfort to the wrist.

After 2 years of use, the dryer began making a squeaking noise, and Speed Queen would not stand behind the repair. The repair turned out to be a simple, front seal gasket wore through and rubbed on the front support. I had to pay for the service call repair.

I absolutely love my Speed Queen, washer and dryer! My clothes seem a lot cleaner and the cycles seem a lot quicker than my previous washing machines. I had two previous brands of washing machine in the last six years that I did not like at all and got rid of them. One was a front loader which I did not like and the other took so long to go through the cycles. Both would get off-balance regularly as well. Then I started hearing good things about Speed Queen and decided to give them a try. I also wanted a machine with a center agitator again. The day I bought my machines, another neighbor went with me and bought herself a set also. While we were in the store, another woman came in with the same complaints that we had about our previous machines and also bought a set! The very next day while walking my dog in my neighborhood, I ran into another neighbor who was getting a delivery of a Speed Queen washer and dryer also! The word was definitely getting around! We all had the same complaints about our previous brands of machines coincidentally. Speed Queen products are worth the price for their quality and efficiency. I no longer dread washing clothes, in fact I look forward to it now! I especially like the wrinkle out feature on the dryer. It leaves my personal clothes at just the exact dampness to finish hanging dry and have absolutely no wrinkles whatsoever.
